Library Seeks Director
The Board of Trustees of Winchester Public Library seeks an energetic, creative, self-motivated Library Director for a dynamic rural library serving a family-friendly community. Located just 25 miles north of Lawrence, Kans. and west of Leavenworth, Kans., Winchester affords easy access to larger city amenities.
The successful candidate will be a community-oriented individual who interacts with the library board, town agencies, and community groups to promote library/community relations. The Director shall manage budgets and staff, grants, and library operations. Excellent communication and computer skills are necessary. This is a 20 hour per week position and may include some evenings and Saturdays. Paid holidays included. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate. Experience working with the public (in a library, retail, food service, or other), and experience working with computers and other technology. PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree (does not have to be library-related). Two or more years of recent and progressive supervisory/managerial experience in a library.
